OCT SCAN: The OCT scan in the right eye shows normal macular thickness. The left eye has edema, particularly temporal to the fovea. Photos confirm clinical findings. FLUORESCEIN ANGIOGRAM: FA shows multiple microaneurysms predominately temporal to the fovea with late leakage into the fovea in the left eye. The right eye has microaneurysms but no significant leakage into the fovea. IMPRESSION: 1. BACKGROUND DIABETIC RETINOPATHY – BOTH EYES 2. CLINICALLY SIGNIFICANT MACULAR EDEMA – LEFT EYE DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient with focal laser we can reduce the risk of vision loss in the left eye. I treated that eye today without any difficulties.
