SLIT LAMP EXAM: There is 1+ nuclear sclerosis OU.
EXTENDED OPHTHALMOSCOPY:
OD: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.3. There are 3+ parafoveal crystals.
OS: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.3. There are 3+ parafoveal crystals.
OCT SCAN: The right eye is normal. The left eye shows an intraretinal cyst.
IMPRESSION:
1. IDIOPATHIC JUXTAFOVEAL RETINAL TELANGIECTASIS, GROUP IIA BOTH EYES; RIGHT EYE STAGE II, LEFT EYE STAGE III
DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient that he does have retinal telangiectasis. Most patients with this maintain good vision. He should, however, be checked regularly because of the possibility of neovascularization.
