Last additions - Syphilis - Syphilitic Chorioretinitis 52 year old HIV negative man. May of 2014 the right eye had a vitrectomy for a floater. He was told that the doctor couldn't get all the floaters. He had cataract surgery (required 2 surgeries for the cataract). Them a different retina docotor then did another vitrectomy and scraped the scar tissue off the retina which had formed because the initial doctor couldn't get everything. The patient gave up a few months ago. He cannot see out of the right eye. There is constant flickering and distorted vision in the right eye. Since he stopped treatment his vision is no worse. He sees a fog out of the right eye and light and dark. 6/12/14 no pucker. The retina specialist who did the second vitrectomy also did laser to the macula to try to get rid of some of the swelling. The left eye is fine. The vision in the right eye is 20/63. There is diffuse chorioretinitis. There are no vitreous cells. With treatment of his neurosyphillis his vision improved from 20/63 to 20/32.
