Last additions - Cystoid Macular Edema and dry AMD - occult uveitis - treated with subetnon's Kenalog 72 year old woman prior to this year her vision was pretty good. She was using the drug store glasses for a while. She is using the highest strength for reading. This year she notices that her vision is worse. She can see everything around her but cannot see street signs. She always felt that one eye was better than the other. She thought the right was better than the left. It is difficult to tell. Her last eye check was a long time ago when she got her license renewed. She was told then to see an eye doctor. That was about 8 years ago. VA 20/80 OD 20/50 OS. She has many macular drusen in both eyes. The left eye has macular edema. The FA shows diffuse leakage of the macular and nerve suggesting inflammatory macular edema. The ICG shows no plaque suggesting dry AMD. She responded to subtenon's kenalog. This is an excellent example of why fluorescein angiography is essential in managing wet macular degeneration. This patient would have been treated with years of anti-VEGF agents were it not for the FA and ICG showing that she did not have wet AMD.
