56-year-old woman has had recurrent vitreous hemorrhage in the left eye from vitreoretinal traction. Diabetes Mellitus for 20 years and excellent response to vitrectomy in the right eye about 1 year ago for recurrent vitreous hemorrhage from traction over a major retinal vessel. VISUAL ACUITY: Vision OS is 20/200. IOP: OS 17. The posterior chamber intraocular lens is in good position. EXTENDED OPHTHALMOSCOPY: OS: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.1. There is vitreoretinal traction nasal to the optic nerve and there is vitreous hemorrhage inferiorly. IMPRESSION: 1. RECURRENT VITREOUS HEMORRHAGE FROM VITREORETINAL TRACTION – LEFT EYE DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient with vitrectomy we can reduce the risk of further bleeding in that eye and I have scheduled her for that. I will keep you abreast of her progress.
