Traction and Rhegmatogenous Retinal Detachment Right Eye
|
|
58-year-old woman has proliferative diabetic retinopathy in both eyes. She had a complex retinal detachment repair in the right eye in August of 2006. She had a vitrectomy in the left eye as well the same week. Her vision in both eyes is stable. She has had panretinal laser in both eyes.
VISUAL ACUITY: OD: 1/200; OS: 20/30. IOP: OD; 1 6, OS: 19. The posterior chamber intraocular lens is in good position in both eyes.
EXTENDED OPHTHALMOSCOPY:
OD: C/D ratio is 0.3. The retina is attached under oil.
OS: Vertical C/D ratio is 0.3. The retina is attached with panretinal laser. There is pre-retinal fibrosis inferior to the macula, which is unchanged from previous exams. Photos confirm clinical findings.
IMPRESSION:
1. PROLIFERATIVE DIABETIC RETINOPATHY IN BOTH EYES.
2. STATUS POST VITRECTOMY IN BOTH EYES.
DISCUSSION: I explained to the patient that the retinas look stable. There is a little fibrosis near the macula in the left eye, which looks stable.
