Syphilitic Optic Nerve Gumma - 81 year old 81 year old african american woman She has noticed that her vision is getting blurry and teary. The left eye bothers her more than the right. The vision in the left eye seems out of focus. This has been happening for 2-3 months. Her BP has been a little elevated but she was put on a second medicine and that is now better. She is not having unusual headaches. She is having joint pains more than usual. (right knee, left shoulder and her left ankle) for about 3 months. She saw a rheumatologist who did testing and she also had cortisone shots. No new cats. She has no recent travel history. She has no recent flu or fevers that she can remember. Vision 20/25 OD 20/32 OS - Optic nerve swelling OS with some adjacent retinal edema
